The NERITES project was presented on Friday, 22nd November 2024, at the second edition of the PCTO Path (“Paths for Transversal Skills and Orientation”) event titled “Studying Engineering at the University of Calabria”, held in Rende, Calabria.
The event, organized by the University of Calabria (UNICAL), welcomed 900 students from 19 high schools across the Calabria region. Selected students, particularly those considering engineering as a career path, had the opportunity to visit 34 laboratories in the university’s Engineering area. Researchers and faculty engaged with the students, introducing them to cutting-edge technologies and innovative projects, including NERITES.
The presentation of NERITES emphasized the role of autonomous technologies in research and highlighted how such advancements contribute to solving contemporary challenges. By engaging future generations of engineers, the initiative aimed to stimulate curiosity and inspire students to explore scientific research and innovation.
The PCTO program, formerly known as school-work alternation, is designed to orient students in their final three years of high school. It provides exposure to the world of work, supports informed decisions about their academic future, and fosters the development of transversal skills critical for professional growth.Through its participation in the event, NERITES showcased the importance of bridging research and education to cultivate the next generation of scientists and engineers.
