The 5th NERITES Project Meeting in Genoa, Italy

On 25–26 February 2026, the NERITES consortium gathered in Genoa, Italy for the 5th Project Meeting, kindly hosted by project partner Graal Tech.

The two-day meeting brought together partners to review the progress achieved across the project and coordinate the next steps towards the implementation and validation of the NERITES solution. Discussions focused on the advancement of the project’s technological components, the preparation of upcoming integration activities, and the roadmap towards the pilot deployments.

As NERITES enters the final phase, partners worked closely on aligning the development of the different technologies and ensuring their smooth integration for the NERITES solution.

During the meeting, the consortium also had the opportunity to visit Graal Tech’s laboratories, where several of the technologies developed within NERITES are being developed for the next stages of testing. The integration and validation activities carried out at Graal Tech will support the upcoming pilot deployments of the NERITES solution, which will take place at the project’s two pilot sites:

  • Archaeological Park of Baia in Italy, and
  • Fournoi, Ikaria in Greece, one of the most important underwater archaeological landscapes in the Mediterranean.

During the second day of the meeting, the agenda also included a presentation of the uBlueTec project by Kalliopi Baika from Aix-Marseille University, the project coordinator. The presentation highlighted the objectives and results of uBlueTec and contributed to building the synergy between the two initiatives, highlighting their common scope in the field of innovative underwater technologies.
