NERITES participated in the Green Heritage Cluster Webinar “From Heritage Data to Heritage Intelligence: Early Results from European Cultural Heritage Monitoring Projects”, held online on 30 June 2026.
The webinar brought together four European projects of the Green Heritage Cluster — NERITES, ARGUS, ChemiNova and iPhotoCult — to share early outcomes, approaches and experiences from ongoing activities in the field of cultural heritage monitoring.
The event explored how heritage data can be transformed into meaningful knowledge to support the monitoring, understanding and protection of cultural heritage. Particular emphasis was placed on the challenges created by environmental pressures, climate change and the increasing use of digital technologies in cultural heritage research and practice.
NERITES contributed to the discussion with the presentation “Bridging Underwater Cultural Heritage Protection, Marine Monitoring and Policy Needs” by Elena Tilegrafou, Atlantis Consulting. The presentation highlighted the project’s approach to underwater cultural heritage monitoring and its connection with wider protection and policy needs.
Through the exchange of methodologies, tools and early results, the webinar offered a valuable opportunity for dialogue among researchers, cultural heritage professionals, technology providers, policymakers and stakeholders interested in the future of cultural heritage protection.
